Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you work with?

We primarily support children between the ages of 2 and 6, though we also work with older children on a case-by-case basis, especially if they need developmental support or a more personalized approach to learning.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions are offered in-home, in parks, or in community spaces such as libraries. We collaborate with families to determine the best and most comfortable environment for their child.

What kind of experience does Luis have?

Luis Gante has over ten years of experience working in early childhood education, including one-on-one instruction, behavioral guidance, and neurodivergent support. He’s also certified in all major child safety areas and has worked extensively with children who are bilingual, emotionally sensitive, or require adaptive learning strategies.

Do you work with children who have special needs or behavioral challenges?

Yes. Luis has specialized experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, speech delays, and emotional regulation difficulties. His approach is trauma-informed, individualized, and deeply compassionate.

How do I cancel or reschedule a session?

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice via call, text (415-424-4736), or email to absences@ganteacademy.com. Missed sessions without notice will be charged the full session fee, except in cases of illness or emergency. (See full policy for details.)

Will I receive updates about my child’s progress?

Yes. You’ll receive a Daily Progress Snapshot after each session. This includes insights on developmental goals, emotional check-ins, and personalized notes about your child’s growth.

Do you offer ongoing sessions or just short-term support?

We offer both! Some families choose weekly sessions throughout the school year, while others reach out for support during transitions, behavior concerns, or school readiness. We’ll create a plan that fits your child’s needs and your family’s goals.

Is this a tutoring service?

Not exactly. Gante Academy focuses on whole-child development, which may include early academic foundations, but also emphasizes emotional wellness, executive functioning, communication skills, and social-emotional learning.

What does a typical session look like?

Each session is tailored to the child. A typical 60-minute session may include play-based learning, movement activities, emotional coaching, and goal-focused skill-building — all grounded in your child’s interests and pace.
